The San Antonio Railroad Heritage Museum (SARHM), is San Antonio’s newest railroad museum. Here is an overview of what we have planned so far. First off is the restoration and preservation of railroad equipment and structures of the South Texas region. Our displays will be mostly centered on the railroads pertaining to the region, but will not be limited to them. Now along the lines of operations, the plans are to operate a tourist railroad with equipment designated for operation on and off the museum property. Our biggest goal pertains to the educational benefits that we intend to promote. This will be achieved with interactive displays of all sorts ranging from full size cut-aways of locomotives and their parts, to an actual locomotive simulator. We have an exciting future ahead of us, with many activities, displays, and events planned. Best of all, we’re just getting started!
